The little things make the big things happen.

When there is unity and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved. Our Allied Health team is multidisciplinary, providing complementary skills and services to provide the best in patient care.

Our support services

  • From the time of diagnosis and throughout treatment, our McGrath Breast Care Nurse, Sue Collins, helps by listening, organising, empowering and supporting our patients and their families. This is a complimentary service for our breast cancer patients.

Sue builds an important relationship with each patient and becomes a trusted, consistent and knowledgable point of contact throughout their breast cancer journey.

  • Our Clinical & Health Psychologist, Dr. Danielle Anthony, provides client-centred, evidence-based and individualised psychological treatment for every patient she sees.

Danielle takes a compassion-focussed approach to her work and uses a variety of therapeutic techniques. She’s here to support patients through diagnosis, treatment and post-treatment.

  • Our physiotherapists, Mary Shearer and Carolyn Urquhart, work with our breast cancer patients from diagnosis through to post-treatment, supporting them through gentle treatments that help to reduce the risk of complications after breast cancer surgery.

These appointments are often able to coincide with specialist appointments at our centre, so you can see your breast surgeon, oncologist and physio all in the one day.

  • Meshelle Bell, our acupuncturist, is a highly instinctual practitioner who utilises traditional acupuncture techniques and traditional Chinese medicine diagnostic tools to provide a holistic and individualised plan for her patients.

Acupuncture is very effective at reducing or eliminating side effects associated with breast cancer. It’s safe and side-effect-free, so it can be used in conjunction with any other treatment.

  • Our Accredited Practising Dietitian, Joanna Stockings, is here to help people with kidney disease understand dietary guidelines for renal insufficiency, and address nutritional concerns while preserving kidney function.

Beast cancer patients undergoing treatment can also benefit from dietary advice to help manage treatment side effects.

Jo believes food should be enjoyed and dietary changes should be sustainable. She works closely with her clients to optimise their dietary intake for health benefits in chronic disease, with a focus on practicality and enjoyment of food.
